Hello. My name is David Andrus. I am the Clarinet, Oboe and Bassoon Instructor and an Assistant Band Director at J.W. Nixon High School in Laredo, TX. I also assist at Lamar Middle School with the clarinet section and teach the beginner bassoon class.


I am a 2003 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where I was a member of The University of Texas Wind Ensemble. I also enjoyed membership in The Longhorn Band , The Longhorn Basketball Band, and served as President of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.

This summer was the innauguration of the Laredo Chamber Music Center. For one week we met to learn and have fun. Several small ensembles and one large ensemble rehearsed a variety of styles of music during the week. On Friday, a cook-out was provided and the ensembles performed for a group of friends and family. The week was very successful and we are looking forward to next year's clinic.
